Making your candle label work
Handmade candle brands live or die on the shelf, where the label is the first thing a buyer touches. A candle label carries the scent name and the brand, and in many places the weight and safety wording too.
What to write on it
- Give the scent a name worth reading, then a few words on the notes: lavender, cedar, vanilla.
- Add the wax type and net weight, which shoppers look for and some markets require.
- Leave room for safety wording if your market requires it, or plan a separate warning sticker for the base.
One tip
Measure the jar before you print. A label that wraps too far meets itself at the back, and one that is too tall creeps over the curve at the shoulder.
