Making your plant pot sticker work

Plant shops and growers label pots with a sticker that carries the shop name and, often, a cheerful line. It stays on the pot at home, so every time the customer waters the plant, they see where it came from.

What to write on it

  • Your shop or nursery name.
  • A short friendly line, like grow something good.
  • A leaf or plant mark that fits the shop's style.

One tip

Pots get wet. A waterproof vinyl sticker survives watering and misting; paper ones peel within weeks. Put it at the front of the pot, facing out, where it shows in the photos customers post of their plants. Wipe the pot clean and dry before applying so it sticks first time.

Can I add care instructions to the pot sticker?
A 3 inch square has room for a word or two. Put full care instructions on a separate tag or card.
Do the stickers suit terracotta pots?
Stick them on glazed or plastic pots; unglazed terracotta is porous and stickers struggle to hold.
