Making your tote bag print work
Farmers markets, bookshops and makers sell or give away tote bags that carry their name around town for years. A tote print should be bold and simple, readable from across the street, because that is where most people will see it.
What to write on it
- The market or shop name as the main element.
- A short line or year, such as Saturdays since 2015.
- An illustration that says what you sell: vegetables, books, flowers.
One tip
Canvas totes come in natural, black and navy most often. Check your design against the bag colour, not white, before you print. A one-colour design often looks best on canvas and costs less to print.
What you get
- Made at 11 × 11 in.
- A transparent 300 DPI PNG, ready for DTF and garment printers.

- Can I print the tote design on bags myself?
- You get a transparent print file. A DTF or garment printer can apply it to canvas totes, often in small runs.
- What size is the tote print?
- It is made at 11 × 11 inches, which fits the front of a standard canvas tote.
