Terms of service

Effective 1 November 2026

These terms are between you and VectorArtLab (“we”, “us”). They are written to be read: where a term costs you money or time, it is stated in the same plain language we use everywhere else on the site.

The short version

You pay once, for one finished design. Nothing renews and no balance expires.
The design is yours to sell on — shirts, signs, mugs, anything you make.
You are responsible for what you ask us to draw. Brand and character requests are refused before any preview is made.
Your download link works for 12 months from the day you paid. Save a copy before then.
If we take your money and fail to deliver, the refund is automatic.
01

What you are buying

One payment buys one finished, print-ready design, delivered in every format listed on the pricing page. The price is $3.99, and it covers the whole chain — generating an image, removing a background as part of the design, tracing it into a clean vector that prints sharp at any size, and producing every format — whether your design needed one of those steps or all of them. More steps do not cost more.

Any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are is added on top. Stripe works it out at checkout from the location you give it, and shows it before you pay.

There is no subscription. Nothing renews, nothing is billed monthly, and there is no balance sitting in an account that expires if you do not come back. A single design needs no account at all: an email address for the delivery link, and whatever Stripe needs to take the payment, is all we ask for.

Upscaling is a separate product. One payment of $1.00 buys one PNG of your image, enlarged by an AI model to the print width you choose at 300 DPI. It is not traced, so there is no vector and none of the other formats — just the one image, bigger. Everything else in these terms applies to it the same way.

Background removal on its own is a separate product too. One payment of $1.00 buys one full-size PNG of your image with its background made transparent. It is not traced, so there is no vector and none of the other formats. Removing a background as part of a design costs nothing extra; this is for when the transparent PNG is all you need.

Previews are free and watermarked. You see what you are buying before you are charged, which is the whole point of the order in which this works.

02

Packs

A pack is a single purchase of several designs at a lower price each. It is not a plan and not a top-up. Which sizes are on sale, and what each costs, is shown on the pricing page; the price you pay is the price shown there at the moment you buy.

A pack never expires — the designs sit against your email address until you use them, with no renewal date, no dormancy rule and no clawback. It is tied to the address you bought it with and cannot be transferred between addresses. Using one from a pack gets you exactly what buying one outright would; the discount is applied at purchase, not withheld.

A pack is counted in credits. One design takes 1 credit, one upscale ¼ credit and one background removal ¼ credit, so a balance can be a part of a credit, in quarters. A single purchase is paid from one balance: credits held on two different email addresses are not added together to pay for one item.

If we refund a pack, any designs still unused on it are withdrawn at the same time. Anything you have already had delivered is yours to keep, and its download link keeps working for the period in section 6.

If you dispute a payment with your bank instead of asking us, what that payment bought is paused while the dispute is open: its download link stops working, a studio design it paid for can no longer be exported, and a pack’s unused credits are taken off your balance. If the dispute is settled in our favour, we put them back.

03

What you may do with the design

The finished design is yours to use commercially. Print it, sell it on products you make, put it on shirts, signs, packaging, merchandise you list on a marketplace — no attribution, no per-unit royalty, no separate licence to buy.

We do not resell your delivered design, and we do not put it in a stock library. We keep the copy described in section 6 so you can download it again, and nothing more.

04

What you are responsible for

You are responsible for what you ask us to make. If you upload artwork, you need the right to use it. If you write a prompt, the result must not be someone else’s trademark, logo, or copyrighted character — that includes brand marks and recognisable characters from film, television and games.

We check every prompt against a brand and character blocklist before anything is generated, and refuse the ones that match — before any preview is made, so there is nothing to pay for. We may also refuse or cancel an order after payment if it turns out to use work you do not have the right to; if we cancel a paid order, we refund it in full. We keep the prompt text against your session for 90 days so that a takedown or ownership complaint can actually be answered.

05

Accounts

Accounts are optional. You can buy without one; an account simply lists everything bought with your email address in one place. You sign in with a code we email you, or with a password if you choose to set one.

If you set a password, keep it to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account by anyone you let sign in to it, and we will not ask you for your password.

We may suspend or close an account that is used to abuse the service — for example to automate free previews, or to try to reach other people’s orders. Closing an account does not by itself cancel the download link for a design you paid for.

06

How long we keep your files

Your download link is a permanent address on this site, not a storage URL that quietly stops working. You can come back to it and re-download every format for 12 months from the day you paid.

When that period ends, the files are deleted from storage and the link stops working. We do not send a reminder first, so treat the download as the moment you own the files — save a copy somewhere you control.

We may revoke an individual link earlier if it is being abused (for example, shared publicly and hammered). That is a link problem, not an order problem: contact us and we will issue a new one.

07

Refunds

If your payment succeeds and we then fail to produce your files, you get your money back without asking. We retry the work automatically — five attempts in all, over roughly a quarter of an hour. If it still cannot be finished, the order is marked failed, a full refund is issued to the original payment method, and we email you to say so. In the rare case that the refund itself cannot be issued automatically, that email says it is in progress and we issue it by hand. You do not have to chase us.

If the order was paid with a credit from a pack rather than a card, there is no card charge to reverse: the credit goes back on your pack instead, ready to use again.

If a provider we depend on is down before you pay, we pause that step rather than take the money. Nothing is charged for work we know we cannot deliver.

Because previews are free and shown before checkout, “I changed my mind about how it looks” is not normally a refund case once the finished design has been delivered. If something is genuinely wrong with the output — the wrong format, a corrupt file, a result that does not match the preview you approved — write to us and we will fix it or refund it.

08

Availability

This is a small service that depends on third-party AI providers. We do not promise uptime. When a step is unavailable, we say which one and keep the rest running, rather than failing silently or charging into a queue that will not clear.

09

What we do not promise

We provide the service and the files as they are. We make sure every design is delivered in the formats we list and matches the preview you approved, but we do not promise that a file will suit every printer, material or use, or that artwork made by an AI model does not resemble something that already exists. Checking that a file is right for what you are making, before you print a run of it, is up to you.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that a contract cannot remove — for example consumer protection rights where you live.

10

Limits on our liability

If something goes wrong because of us, the most we are responsible for is the amount you paid for the order in question. We are not responsible for losses that follow on from a problem with a file — such as lost profits, the cost of a print run, reprints, or missed deadlines.

These limits do not apply where the law says they cannot, and they do not limit our responsibility for fraud or for anything we are not allowed by law to exclude.

11

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the version in force for your order is the one published on the day you paid; each version carries its effective date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively shorten the retention period or narrow the usage rights on adesign you have already bought.

Questions about any of this go to Contact. How we handle your data is covered separately in Privacy.
